Single-origin vs blended spices
Single-origin spices come from one specific farm or region and tend to have more consistent flavour batch to batch. Blended spices, common in masalas, combine multiple ingredients and their quality depends heavily on the proportion and freshness of each component.
What "unadulterated" and "no added colour" actually cover
These terms typically mean no artificial colouring agents or fillers like starch have been added to bulk up weight or enhance appearance. It does not automatically mean organic or pesticide-free those are separate certifications worth checking independently.
Why whole spices often outperform pre-ground ones
Ground spices lose aromatic oils faster once exposed to air, sometimes within a few months. Whole spices, ground fresh at home in small batches, generally deliver noticeably stronger flavour for the same product.
